BitFighter Advertising Sub-Forum

I messaged Wat about this but I know he is busy and I'm not sure if there is any other procedure to add a sub-forum, so I thought I would post here, let all the admins can see the suggestion, and hope for the best.

I think that a minimal-cost advertising campaign could really help grow the gaming community. By targeting gaming stores, cyber cafes, and programming clubs with snail-mail, we could reach out to a large number of people in an original way for little more than the cost of stamps and envelopes.

To avoid any kind of elitism, I think this should be a volunteer effort open to the whole community. However, there would need to be some coordination to make it efficient (maybe one person could do research/find addresses, one person could write up letters, and someone else could mail the things).

Naturally, I think a sub-forum would be most useful for this effort, and in this sub-forum I think three sections would be useful:
1) Research (Potential Contacts)
2) Strategy (Pre-written letters)
3) Correspondence (Who we've contacted already, and a summary of their response, if any).

#3 would mostly be so we could judge the effectiveness efforts based on feedback/results, and so that we don't bother people with multiple attempts.

Sorry for asking but why do in manually when you can get a automated email spammer would that be more efficient.

Because everyone hates automated email spammers.

A personally written letter is much more effective.

But couldnt you get millions more users by using a automated email service over licking 10000000 envolopes and dying from anthrax poisoning?

(before you complain letter glue actually contains anthrax in it but its a minute amount only about 3/100000 parts so you would have to spends months non stop licking envelopes to die.)

I don't know which way would get more people, but I don't see why we don't do both. Amgine, you can be in charge of sending out emails. :) If you need any help, feel free to ask and I'll try.

Also, he wasn't talking about mailing thousands of letters to random people, he was talking about writing and mailing specific letters to "gaming stores, cyber cafes, and programming clubs."

Much less anthrax involved

I am looking into it and atm the best service for bitfighter seems to be mailchimp you can get up to 2000 subsribers and 12,000 emails per month for free I will raptor set this up however there are concerns.

1. because you have to input information and I feel the main leader of bitfighter should do this.

2. Is no longer invalid its fine.

Well, regardless of that, I am more interested in a low-cost, snail mail campaign. Something well put together and tasteful. Not as massive junk mail campaign, but a targeted and energetic letter campaign.

Idk I think a fast aggressive campaign would be better its all up to tastes.

However I do not think your idea is bad users are users no matter how they are gotten :)
