Re: Scrollbar
The level menu has a search by letter function, sort of. You can just press the key of the letter you wish to browse and it'll jump there.
Scrollbar would be nice for smoother browsing.

Whaaaaat. *mindblown*
You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
Re: Scrollbar
yes I use the letter search. but how about a search by word or creator option in addition to the scroll bar.
Bitfighter Forever.
Re: Scrollbar
I'd be down for a search function, including author and name filters as you suggested.
Re: Scrollbar
We already use the level code headers to sort the level select menu by gametype - why not populate another level select menu using LevelCredits?
All Levels >
Sort by Author >
Sort by Gametype >
All Levels >
Sort by Author >
Sort by Gametype >
Re: Scrollbar
If author is the only additional use case then I think it would be better to make a full-on word filter and return results that match either name or author.
That menu is kind of a pain right now if you have a good collection...

Re: Scrollbar
Well my other idea was to allow regular old folder sorting and let the host organize things however they like. You could still scrape all the subdirectories and present All Levels at the root screen.
If you're going to go the full word filter option, it might be worth adding a Tags line to the level header so people can create useful search terms. I could imagine tags like:
small, medium, large (map size), quick, long (time to play), multi, ffa (teams), art, sandbox (nontraditional level design)...the list goes on.

Re: Scrollbar
Sounds like we're all in agreement that that menu could and should be improved. As usual, I like k's suggestions, and also k's.
Just remember how great that screen was _before_ you could jump by letter!

Re: Scrollbar
The search by letter function still works if you narrow results by gamemode.
