More power ups!!! Bonus weapon idea!

There are only 2 power ups in bitfighter and they fill your power or energy I think we need more here are some ideas:

Grow power up:
Grows your ship for about 30 seconds it also makes you faster and boosts your defense.

Rapid fire power up:
You shoot much faster causing much more damage. This will last about 40 seconds.

Nitro power up:
Makes your ship much faster without losing power this will last about 30 seconds.

Bonus weapon idea: Laser
A long beam that does heavy damage but it takes away lots of power. The beam can't go that far only about 4 inches on your screen.

Some of this power up idea was talked about before, in New idea where some might say "Crown" and other may call it "Power up".

Laser weapon do sound like a good idea when laser can fire at the enemy or something instantly, no slow moving bullets like other weapons.

i dont see how effective a beam that takes away all of your energy with no range is.

I think laser weapon is good if the range is equally long as phaser, use small energy, and does small damage. Look at how slow phaser moves, compare that to laser.

When I read it, I envisioned it more like a lightsaber coming out of the front of your ship. Like a melee weapon that's uber powerful but drains your energy.
lol what if there was a power-up that set your ship on fire and made it so that if you collided with any other ship, they exploded? xD

sam got my idea of what it would look like spot on. I will hope my ideas in bot of my posts will be made into the new version but if its not I WILL STRANGLE YOU AND THROW ALL DOWN A TAR PIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok I made that up...

From what I have seen, this weapon idea isn't new. I've seen this on a game called "Sketch Fighter", which is a game somewhat similar to Bitfighter, only it has a single player mode.

From what I have seen, this weapon idea isn't new. I've seen this on a game called "Sketch Fighter", which is a game somewhat similar to Bitfighter, only it has a single player mode.


Ive played sketch fighter but it does not have a laser from what I have seen

if we did have a melee weapon, say practically little range completely, what would you be more open to? 1 hit kills? No or little energy use? I want to see a melee weapon too, but what about something that can go through shields? rarely are you able to bump up to an enemy in action, and when you do, they most likely have shield on, if they're really trying to put up a fight at all..

I say no to the one-hit kill weopons. As much as I like pwning, it would discourage new players. If one team has a bunch of new players, and the other team having stealth and "one hit melee", then the novice team would probably leave. I dono. The one-hit stuff for me is a no go.

Not 1-hit kills...but I would make it passive like Armor and attach a total energy cost or something like that. It'd be useful for base crashing and flag defense. Probably useful for Nexus camping. What if it was low-damage but had a little throwback? Just another idea worth discussing.

Such "/edit" is just some mod, doesn't work on dedicated servers, and might not go into main releases..

If there is a one hit kill tiny range weapon and shield can block as usual, then more players would likely use cloak, so enemy can't see you and enemy keeps the shield off.

To me, it seems like many Bitfighter weapons is short range against enemies, as bullets go appears to go very slow, the enemy have moved away from where the bullets is going. Laser can instantly hit a moving enemy ship. I still kind of want Laser weapons to go longer range.

that makes it too easy.

Bullets may go at a very fast velocity, but moderately experienced players know how to shoot a gun in-front of a ship and estimate where you will hit. Its the same technique with turrets, and thats what makes them glitchy if you move around in circles shooting one. Its shooting at where it knows (thinks) you are going to be, but your sudden action of another way defies it.

Maybe have a "BESERK" powerup that increases fire rate for x seconds? (maybe x= 30?) and a "Damage Amplifier" (Damage Amp for short) that lets you do 1.5x damage for x seconds (x being 30 seconds again)

I have long been musing over a short range beam weapon that doesn't need to be aimed; think something that works like repair in reverse.

i made one of those with a triple weapon. Infact, it feels cool. im going to try coding it again.

Bullets fired from zero speed Ships go slower then ships using turbo. Ships using turbo firing back may make bullets go very slow and backwards. That is what I mean by how the bullets go very slow.

Short range weapon may increase the use of Cloak.

Eh cc is pretty op in games usually. Unless you have a way to counter the cc (control crowd effects) like resistance to it, block it, or revert it. Some examples of cc are stun, push, pull, shock[stun (usually very short time) but take damage over time], and snare (similar to stun, but you still able to do actions besides movement like shooting). CC and especially aoe CC can mess up bitfighter if you don't make counters to it or make it have a big sacrifice (flaw) like a huge requirement of energy (with huge requirement of energy [like 30% for example], just like triple shot [except triple shot damage is kinda weak compare to amount of energy needed], it will have almost no purpose; so then it's either a ridiculously op weapon or a useless weapon).

Assassins usually like cc because it can lead to so much potential outcomes, so I can see why you want your cc weapon associated with cloak...to kick ARSS. :| Assassins are usually an odd class in multiplayer games because they are either weak or overpowered due to their strengths and weaknesses. Usually they are weak because they don't work well with teams, weaker if the enemy is smart, and require having to be stronger than the enemies to assassinate successfully, unless they are op. Basically assassins are only fun in single player games like Assassin Creed or if your enemies are a bunch of newbs. Assassins require more psychological thinking (particular in the tactics of manipulating) than other classes, which seems pointless and odd in a multiplayer game. Assassins are just for the kids to have fun with in online games or for them to complain about... :lol: Teamwork beats a pro usually, unless it's a pro team. Assassins are only good in 1vs1. If it's a team fight, their only strength is the element of surprise which doesn't happen often unless the enemy is stupid. Being able to support your team, like snipers, is far more useful.

I played a game where there's power up if you have streaks or very successful with one life (one soldier's life) and it's unfair when a bunch of newbs fed a player with plenty of points to have damage/defense bonuses that he barely kills me in a 1vs1. This makes snowball effects (snowball is running down along a hill and gets so huge that nothing can stop it) happen and I think it's @%&(*#%&(*.

"Assassins" in bitfighter can be really useful for killing the enemy flag carrier and returning the flag...or forcing the flag carrier to waste energy or waltz into a dangerous situation. Currently there isn't much team coordination, but a good cloaker can turn the tide.

that already exist, use /cheat on sam's server

Nitro power up:

That means if i use it with Shield, and armor, Ill be invincible

Eh cloakers usually don't have turbo, because it's better to have shield to 1vs1. Thus, it's all or nothing in assassination, no way to run away and no way to chase...You sure like cloak... :D

Pretty much turbo is more adaptable than cloak.

actually, the probably most effective module in bitfighter is the sensor. The only reason nobody likes it or uses it, is because no one knows exactly how to use it in the most effective way. If it isn't used in the most effective way, its as good as useless.

First of all, that required voting to enable, for about one week, until sam disabled voting. Secondly, it will be as good as gone, or at least still only on sam's server as a server-specific-hack forever. No, it will not go on the standard release. Dont ask for it to be. Unless you want everyone to leave and the game to collapse onto itself.

Um shouldn't the shield be the best module, because without it ships die pretty fast in combat...I mean the shield makes nothing hurt you...that's totally OP, but I like it. It should use more energy, but whatever I like it. I think we all like it the way it is.

Knockback weapon have a problem, knockback weapon is mostly useless when chasing an enemy, except to trap them in a corner. That gives a big advantage to players that are running away using knockback. That can make a bigger problem of not being able to chase and destroy an enemy.

That was kind of why I wanted magnet or laser weapon, to make it easier to destroy enemies running away.

Finally someone has the same insight as me about chasing. Magnet seems too op and unique, but a Sniper Laser is a good idea. Since we have bursts, the knockback weapon seems like a redundant weapon.

What about a gravity item that's life is linked with the person who placed it? Idle ships would drift, and flying in a certain direction would either become easier or harder. Turned off/on in the editor just like engineer.
