Hello,

After playing a few other network games recently, it has become apparent that many of them use the following keys for chat:

't' - global chat
'y' - team chat

Also, when I play games with new people, where they are on the opposite team, they are always silent. Might it be because they are using 't' to try and communicate with me?

Should we change these defaults?

It doesn't matter because we can remap them anyway. I personally have global chat set to enter and rarely use team chat.

Go ahead and do that. It makes the game more user-friendly for all the silly damn noobs who are apparently too moronic to look at the controls, and as bobdaduck says, us veterans who may be bothered by it can always just change it back to what we're used to.

Heh, I say you should do it, most games use that and yes, noobs always use tea chat ...

yes how about g for global or enter and t for team istead of t for global and y for team

The goal is not to change it just because we can, but to do it so new players feel more comfortable.

Interesting, most multiplayer games I've played have had a "y and u" setup. In any case, I agree that g is probably not the most appropriate choice for chat.

I have my global set to Enter cause I have to push that anyways...
And I hardly ever use team but it's T lol

Some PC online game use "Enter" for global chat in addition to some other buttons for global and team chat. I may want both G and Enter to be global chat.

If we change the default global key to "U", we should rename it "universal" chat. Though I am still opposed to changing what we have (though not so much that I would veto a popular groundswell).
