Seekers in 1v1

I just got destroyed by seekers on bitmatch13

final score was 10 - 0 (I did accidentally blow myself up with bursts a few times)

Re: Seekers in 1v1

Rodiculous advantage to seekers on a big map that still has decent polygons to hide around, but enough space for spammed seekers to maneuver.

I wish seekers couldn't see me when I was cloaked

Re: Seekers in 1v1

Then they wouldnt be seekers :D

I think chaning the energy usage to maybe 25% or 33% may make seeker spam less problematic.

Well... should seekers see cloaked players? I'm open to input.

I feel like cloaking should mask your heat signature lol

Re: Seekers in 1v1

The real questions, I think, should be about balance. Is cloak unbalanced because seekers can lock on? Or, will cloak be over-balanced if seekers don't lock on?

Re: Seekers in 1v1

I think cloak is waaay weaker now that seekers can see you. It makes having Sensor almost useless, because now instead of having to take up a whole module to combat cloakers, you can simply use a weapon that locks on to anything.

Cloak was balanced before there were seekers, I don't see how making them not lock on to cloaked ships would unbalance it.

While I'm thinking about it, Seekers are actually kind of overpowered.
Maybe make it so they can only find a lock on moving ships? There's no heat to seek if the ship is stationary.

That sounds funny, so seekers are like T-Rex?

Actually that's a myth that a tyrannosaurus could only see moving things.
But yes, that.

Re: Seekers in 1v1

Disagree. I think Seekers are perfectly balanced. They're fairly simple to dodge, and it's even more easy to pulse your shield on and off to combat them. Seekers are only killer if you are a.) uncoordinated/new at the game or b.) in the middle of a firefight so you can't focus on them exclusively.

This puts it in to the "lob them in the middle of a firefight" category, which is cool. Burst is similarly useful. Seeker going after cloak seems pretty logical. Cloak is more crippled by Sensor than anything else … The usage of Seekers makes cloakers a fair bit more obvious, but Sensor is a bloody rock-paper-scissors mechanic, which is so unfun. Isn't a game about having fun? Because Sensor really isn't … even when I'm using it.

Actually, because of the quick rate of fire that seekers have, and the low energy consumption, it's incredibly easy to spam them to a point where dodging them is near impossible.

And a lot of players don't use shield. Making shield a mandatory module to combat constant dying would be unsatisfactory.

The fact that cloak is crippled by sensor is already enough. No other module has any disadvantages or ways to completely work around them as cloak does. Invisibility in any game should always be irrefutable, otherwise it's usless.

Re: Seekers in 1v1

I think seekers need a overall nerf make it so energy usage is 50% 33% or 25% and make it so they cannot home in a cloaked ships and maybe make them non shootable since you will be able to block 2-4 more easily
